While there’s nothing wrong with being skincare obsessed, I often stand in front of the shelf, asking myself what my skin truly needs that day. What products can be layered on top of each other? And how high should the dosage be? If you’re anything like me and are still on the lookout for the ultimate routine, read on.

Skin Cycling was developed by US dermatologist Dr. Whitney Bowe and is based on using different night-time products in a specific order to keep the skin in balance. Think of it like an intensive workout that needs to be followed by a break to allow for muscle recovery - the skin, too, needs a rest after intense active ingredients such as BHA or retinol. But does the strategy really work?

After being diligent and practicing Skin Cycling for several weeks, my complexion looks better than ever. Cycling offers a unique opportunity to use all active ingredients while simultaneously not overdoing it. It’s true that you only need a few products used in a very deliberate way to drive amazing results - my skin finally stopped acting like a hyperactive diva and now leaves a balanced, deeply satisfied impression. 10/10 would recommend!
